Style your wedding with Blume Studio

Style your wedding with Blume Studio

We are excited to collaborate with Blume Studio, offering our Fenton Brides a complimentary styling consultation to start planning the look and feel of their dream wedding. We met with Elspeth of Blume Studio to tell us more about her beautiful floral concepts.

How does Blume work with couples to create their dream wedding?

At Blume Studio we believe in a collaborative process when creating your wedding. We start by doing a deep-dive consultation, looking at what images you’ve saved, and work out the themes you’re naturally drawn to. We love to propose alternative ideas, which our couples may not have considered, as it can often be difficult to go beyond what you see on instagram and pinterest.

From this we start to put together an overall design, looking at the colour palette and style. We then look at each design element in detail from the flowers, the table setting, stationery and prop hire.

What’s involved in a Blume design consultation?

We talk through the overall theme of your wedding, so looking at your venue and how that will relate to your styling details. Then getting to understand you as a couple, and whether you want it to feel formal or relaxed, all these elements should influence your design.

Understanding your budget is key, to work out where best to invest. Whether that’s florals, stationery or tableware for example.

What are the top styling trends you’re seeing for 2024/25 weddings?

Bows are definitely having a moment, from ribbons tied onto wine glasses, to bow shaped place names.

Here at Blume Studio we think candelabras are making a comeback for 2025 weddings whilst keeping florals on the table modern and minimal.

What flowers work best for a wedding bouquet?

This varies depending on the style you’re looking for, and also the season you’re getting married. Spring flowers are a particular favourite of ours, and we love using trailing sweet peas and ranunculus in our bouquets.

When is the best time start planning the overall wedding design?

A year to 9 months in advance! We recommend couples get in touch a year ahead to start planning what they would like their big day to look like. We take on a handful of weddings a year to ensure each of our clients get the very best service.

What 3 pieces of advice would you give to brides starting to plan their wedding?

1. Set a realistic budget you’re comfortable with.

2. Work out your ‘must haves’ and ‘nice to haves’

3. Guest count will affect everything so consider wisely!

For couples having small weddings and only need a few flowers, what would you recommend?

I founded Stem Story this year for couples who want to spend £500 to £1000 on wedding flowers and not compromise on style. Stem Story saves you two to three times what you’d usually spend with an event florist, but you create the flowers yourself.

You download the stem calculator, work out how many flowers you need and then order one of our perfectly curated collections. The flowers are then delivered directly to your door from the grower, ready for you to create your wedding flowers at home! It couldn’t be simpler.
